Minutes of ASHS Alumni Meeting, January 23, 2016
Blessing was delivered before the meal.

Meeting was called to order by President Melinda Strong.
Minutes of previous meeting and Financial records are posted on Alumni website for all to read.
Members of the Honored Classes were recognized ---1946, 1956, 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996 and 2006. As each class and decade were recognized, pictures were taken and will be shared via alumni webpage on ASHS website.
No old business for group to consider.
New Business:
Drawings were held for raffle items:
Chip Hart was the winner of the quilt,
Leon Madden won the Lighthouse Lamp,
Carolyn Bentley won the picnic table,
Christy Hercer won the cross,
Gloria Russell won the throw and
Clifford Russell won a free meal at next year's homecoming.
Anzo Richardson made a motion that the organization officially use the name Apple Springs Alumni and promote future homecoming activities as an Alumni Homecoming. Motion was seconded by Tonie Ragland. After discussion, vote was taken and motion carried.
Anzo Richardson made a motion that the date of the homecoming be moved to the fall of the year when weather is warmer and more conductive to travel. Tonie Ragland seconded the motion. After discussion, vote was taken and motion carried.
R.C. Davis made a motion that the Board of Directors and any interested ex-students investigate possible dates with athletic department and then ask to be placed on the agenda of an upcoming Apple Springs ISD School Board meeting to present requests to school district. Tonie Ragland seconded motion. After discussion, vote was taken and motion carried.
Looking Ahead:
1. Anyone wishing to donate items for the 2017 Homecoming Raffle are asked to contact a member of the Alumni Board of Directors.
2. Anyone with pictures for the slideshow should contact Beckie (Davis) Thorne or Kim (Hogg) Bentley.
3. Group still has concerns over the brick garden
No other new business, meeting was adjourned.

IRS Status---Form 990-N E filing receipt for 2015 tax exempt organization has been filed and has been accepted by IRS. Receipt in alumni files.
Raffle yielded funds to provide three $500 scholarships to members of the Class of 2016.
